Case Study

This is the second unit of my STEAM course, Systems and Models. For this unit, we learned how to conduct a social experiment. We studied the scientific method and how it correlates with making our own case study. For this action project, we were asked to come up with a question that would be answered in the experiment. I wanted to know how often women wear makeup and if it affects their self-esteem.

Mission Survival Manual

This is the final unit of Endurance. Throughout this course, we had to ask ourselves what our mission in life was, and how we were going to endure it. For this action project, I had to come up with a survival manual for the mission we have been working on since unit 1. The mission I set for myself was to help others and be a good person. The goal within that was to specifically help kids that struggle with mental heath. This manual goes deeper into the reasons why I want to undertake the mission and what I need to do moving forward to be successful.

Sales Pitch

In this unit, we studied how to advertise our business and reach a wide spread audience. For this project, we had to create a video sales pitch to show our vision. We looked at company logos and learned how important they are for branding the business. This sales pitch gives the customers a better understanding on our outlook for what we are doing and the impact we hope to make. Changing Fashion - SC  on Vimeo . As a business, we commit to the triple bottom line concept; which includes the interest of people, planet, and profit. We believe these are 3 key aspects that make us successful. People: Our business is all about helping others. We enjoy creating a community that is inclusive to everyone. Our workers will be paid minimum wage $12/hr. There will be the opportunities to increase the wage depending on amount of time working and bonuses. Planet: Unfortunately, cheap clothing has a high cost for people and the planet. Synthetic fabrics such as, polyester require lots of e

Changing Fashion Business Plan

Every business must start somewhere. In my STEAM course, Entrepreneurship, we have been discussing the details of what goes into creating a business. We used our resources from pasts units to create a business plan of our own. For the purpose of this action project I created a store that gives back to the homeless. The amount of homeless people in the city of Chicago is a lot. In order to help this issue, I created a store that after every five items bought, one item will be giving back to a local homeless shelter in Chicago. What Is Your Mission?

What is your mission in life? It seems like this is a frequently asked question from adults. In my Humanities course, Endurance, we have been looking into other people's challenges and their journey throughout. Whether it was by choice or forced everyone has endured some kind of challenge. For this action project we were asked to come up with a mission that we would work on for 12 hours. For my project I chose to recreate and design jeans. I enjoy helping others and I thought this could be a good way of doing so. After completing the project, I realized this is not a passion of mine. It is likely I will do this again, but not as a consistent thing in my future.

Teaching Marketing

Have you ever thought about what actually goes into becoming an entrepreneur? Or how you can start your own business? Throughout my STEAM course, Entrepreneurship, we have been discussing what makes a business successful and how some businesses can improve in becoming more transparent with their consumers. For this Action Project we had to choose a topic to teach to the class with a partner. For our presentation we focused on marketing; the action or business of promoting and selling products or services including market research and advertising. In our lesson, we focused on making the slideshow more interactive by adding images and asking the other students what they thought about the advertisement and whether it'd get there attention to buy the product/service or not. Below is an image of me and MDS, teaching the class about the research we did on marketing. SDC, Marketing Lesson, (2019) Preparing for the presentation didn't take a long time for my partner and I. People Helping People

In my Humanities course, Endurance, we just finished our first unit. Throughout the past couple of weeks our class has focused on what both mental and physical endurance is, as well as how important they both can be as a life's mission. For this Action Project, we had to think of what we want our ideal life to look like 50 years from now and what we've accomplished during that span of time. I actually really enjoyed spending time on this project because it helped guide me for what I actually would like to do in life. People Helping People People Helping People, Clipart (2016). Chapter One: Importance in Life I am fifty years old, and living the life I never thought I’d live. I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to do after high school but I always knew whatever it was I wanted to do something that made a difference and helped people. After attending plenty of therapy myself, I remember thinking what’d it’d be like to become a therapist. In my junior year of hi
