Changing Fashion Business Plan

Every business must start somewhere. In my STEAM course, Entrepreneurship, we have been discussing the details of what goes into creating a business. We used our resources from pasts units to create a business plan of our own. For the purpose of this action project I created a store that gives back to the homeless. The amount of homeless people in the city of Chicago is a lot. In order to help this issue, I created a store that after every five items bought, one item will be giving back to a local homeless shelter in Chicago. Fruitvale Station

In My elective class, Ollywood, we just finished Unit 2 which focused on "Production". We learned about the main elements of film production, which included lighting, camera angles and acting. By watching films in class, we were able to discuss and gain a better understanding for these elements. For this units field experiences, we had a visitor come in for some advice with filming, and then we went to a theatre to watch a documentary on Englewood. Overall I really enjoyed this unit. Chapter 40: First African American President

In my Humanities class, Equality, we finished our unit called, "History". In this unit we learned about the history of gender, race, and class. We discussed the meaning of the word "equality", and how it relates to the past vs. now. We also talked about privilege and how it is likely the more privilege you have, the less aware of it we are. I thoroughly enjoyed this unit of Equality. I liked how involved everyone was in the class discussions. It wasn't a hard topic to understand, but it was a lot to think about. For this Action Project, we had to create a chapter from a history textbook. I chose to do mine on Barack Obama's election because it was such an accomplishment in American history. Hope you enjoy!
