Community Lunch

This is the third unit of our Systems and Models course called, "Organization". Throughout this unit we have mainly focused on SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats), and Maslow's Hierarchy. For our Action Project, we had to create a SWOT analysis for a system at GCE.  I chose to do the project based off our community lunch system here.

Biomimicry uses the studies of nature to create a better human design. For this unit, our main focus has been plants. We analyzed the timeline of life's eras to get a better idea for how long nature has been on earth. The True Cost Of Education

This is unit one of the Economics course. For the past couple of weeks we have been learning about supply/demand and how it plays out in the market place. For our action project, I had two choose two paths to take for college. We had to research the cost of college and how long it would take to pay off. We also had to choose a career path which gave us an idea of how much money we would make in a lifetime. Overall I enjoyed this unit. I liked it because it was very prevalent to my life right now. Ditch The Plastic Straw!

Next time you go to a restaurant bring your own straw instead of hurting the environment. In my STEAM course, Biomimicry, we discussed the importance of recycling and reusing materials instead of leaving them to decompose and hurt our environment. We went on an FE to The Plant and learned more about fungi and decomposition. The purpose of this AP is to create a more sustainable product, that is better for the environment.
